Meet Megan Ruiz
Founder & Program Director
My passion for teaching began at a very young age. As a child, I loved setting up my little chalkboard and teaching lessons to my stuffed animals, long before I ever stepped into a real classroom.
I was born and raised in Miami and later attended Florida International University, where I graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Early Childhood Development.
Ten years ago, I began my professional career in education when I accepted my first position at a local preschool. After spending five years in the classroom, I felt inspired to create something of my own—an educational environment where children could receive more personalized attention and truly enjoy the learning process. That vision led me to start The Traveling Teacher.
Today, I work with students and families throughout South Florida, helping young learners build confidence, strengthen foundational skills, and develop a love of learning.
Why I Created The Traveling Teacher
After several years in the classroom, I realized that many students needed more individualized attention than a traditional classroom could provide. Some children needed extra support to build strong reading foundations, while others simply thrived in smaller learning environment.
The Traveling Teacher was created to offer a small-group learning experience where every child is known, supported, and encouraged to grow at their own pace.
Our Teaching Approach
At The Traveling Teacher, we combine structured academics with engaging, hands-on learning experiences. Our program focuses on helping students build strong foundational skills while developing confidence and curiosity.

The Traveling Teacher offers small-group homeschool pods and personalized tutoring designed to support children ages 4–8 as they build confidence and strong academic foundations.
